August 8

We discussed about family after lunch. Comparing American and Japanese is interesting. It’s one of the most different that people think about marriage and divorce.

Before I went shopping at Pentagon City I’m exciting. So I like shopping. I could buy many souvenirs because The Fashion Center is large. I had a good time!

Hi Mimaki, we have a very high divorce rate (about 50 percent) in the US, but I believe it is leveling off or even beginning to decrease now. Americans have finally realized that children are really hurt when parents divorce. In the past, people believed that divorced parents were better for children than living with parents who no longer loved each other. Now, people are beginning to reconsider this idea.

I am glad you enjoyed the shopping excursion! (I hate shopping!)
